Project Brief

As Ulaman continues to grow, their old website couldn't deliver the seamless digital experience they envisioned for their visitors. Realizing they had outgrown it, they needed a team that could translate Ulamans unique essence, values and stunning architecture into an engaging online journey. They wanted their new website to visually represent Ulaman while seamlessly guiding users, sparking curiosity and encouraging them to click "stay with us". Their goal is for the "Ulaman experience" to start the moment visitors land on the site, continue through booking, check-in, and check-out, leaving them with unforgettable memories and a desire to return.

The Before & After

Their previous site didn't quite do Ulaman justice. It missed the mark in showcasing the state-of-the-art architecture, natural beauty, and excellent facilities. Visitors were presented with too many options upfront, resulting in a lack of clear structure that made navigation challenging and finding information quite difficult.

With the new site, our goal was to create a design that serves as a true digital representation of Ulaman, ensuring every visitor can easily explore and understand all that they have to offer. We carefully structured everything from packages and in-room decorations to indoor and outdoor experiences and accommodations, ensuring intuitive navigation and clarity.

Testimonial

“We're already seeing huge results, and we've been launched less than two weeks, I'm totally thrilled.”

“I really feel that Lola of Two Moons Studio was really great at working outside the box, and I feel like that gives our website uniqueness, and perhaps, and I’ll say this, it may be the best website for a hotel in the world. The key is that they ask enough questions that they understand the customer needs, especially our needs, where they could design something that was exactly what we needed and wanted. The passion that they have for their work showed up in the amount of time dedicated to make this happen in a beautiful way.”

The Map

We chose to include a map to showcase Ulaman's expansive property and diverse offerings, from its range of rooms and facilities to dining areas. This interactive map allows visitors to explore everything without leaving the page—each icon corresponds to a specific feature, and clicking on it reveals detailed information in a pop-up. The map's hand-drawn style was carefully chosen to complement Ulaman's natural, bamboo-inspired aesthetic, aiming for an authentic and artistic representation.

The Sounds

During our strategy meeting with the Ulaman team, we explored ways to bring Ulaman's complete sensory experience online. While photos and videos capture the visual aesthetic, and considering touch and smell can't be conveyed online (yet!), we found inspiration in Ulaman's vibrant jungle ambiance and its ever-changing sounds throughout the day. We came up with an idea: why not let users "immerse themselves" in the "Sounds of Ulaman" at different times? This creative concept aims to transport visitors as they navigate the site, enhancing their virtual journey with an immersive touch.

The Rooms

The goal for the rooms page was to create an engaging and informative experience. Each room category at Ulaman is unique, with its own charm, layout, size, and views. After multiple visits, we were inspired by the distinct beauty of each room, both inside and out, and wanted to convey this to visitors. To complete the experience, we added a map at the end of the page that highlights each room within its category, providing insights into room names, their locations on the property, and nearby facilities.

The Story

For the About page, we crafted a section that tells Ulaman's story in an engaging and clear way. We aim to give visitors a captivating glimpse into Ulaman's journey, helping them feel a personal connection to its beginnings. This section is designed to be both informative and welcoming, offering a warm introduction to Ulaman.

Experiences

Ulaman offers a diverse range of experiences, from hiking and cycling to photoshoots, culinary delights, wellness activities, romantic dinners, and cultural explorations. The old website struggled to present these options clearly, making it hard for users to navigate and find what they wanted. To fix this, we took a new approach: rather than scattering experiences across different pages, we created a single, organized layout. We grouped the activities into outdoor and in-house categories and then broke them down further into specific types. This approach provides visitors with a clear overview of all available options and lets them easily filter based on their interests.

Sister Sites

They also wanted two sister sites—one for their restaurant and another for their spa—each capturing the essence of Ulaman while adding unique features that reflect their individual charm. These sites aimed to attract more outside guests, offering easy exploration of Riverside Spa or E.A.R.T.H Restaurant without the need to navigate through the main Ulaman site.
